Tata Mahindra XUV500 doing very well in the market, Tata had to do something about aging so Safari Tata Motors finally unveiled its long-awaited SUV, the Storme Safari in New Delhi Auto Expo 2012. The new generation Tata Safari Storme brings some freshness and performance for the Safari, true to his pedigree 4WD, with a series of new and the exteriors and interiors. In the front are a new grille, new projector headlamps and a "bump" on the hood. New chrome-tipped dual exhaust pipes, the tailgate in a whole new look and aerodynamic spoilers distinguish the rear with the spare wheel under the vehicle.

Inside you get beige seats combined with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear knob chrome highlighted, wood-accented dashboard and door panels, a new instrument panel, chrome-coated speaker grilles and the inside door handles give the interior opulence. Front seats with fore and aft adjustment and lumbar support make long trips a cruise, while the different integrated dual AC ceiling mounted fan keeps the entire cabin environment.

The engine in Safari Storme is a 2.2L 16-valve common rail (DICOR) engine (140 hp, 320 Nm of torque) with a variable geometry turbo, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Electronic shift-on-the-fly (ESOF) takes you from 2WD to 4WD, even moving. Best in class turning radius of 5.4 meters, ground clearance 200 mm, electrically operated ORVMs and a reverse parking system makes driving comfortable on any terrain. For security reasons, there are 4-channel ABS with EBD, disc brakes on all wheels, a new rack and pinion steering, rigid construction ladder frame with hydro-formed limbs and the deformation zones, beams side intrusion on all doors, collapsible steering column, dual SRS airbags, inertia switch and automatic engine immobilizer.

The new Safari Storme is a significant departure from the previous model and will surely delight fans of Safari!
