Vauxhall Astra VXR review

Vauxhall Astra VXR review

Vauxhall Astra VXR review

The hot hatch is the preserve of young, enthusiastic over the country Petrolheads. No doubt seen as a blight by some, These cars offer staggering performance at an incredibly reasonable price. Well, it's reasonable Before Your insurance company tells you how much you're going to Have to cough up Each year in premiums.

The new Astra VXR promises a lot. First, it's supposed to be a lot more refined than the previous model, Which Some CLAIMED was just too aggressive when to Placed Into the eponymous VXR models. Suffice to say, money Has Been Spent Carried out research and to make this car a lot more attractive.
So, how does it drive, and is it worth the £ 27,000 asking price?
Jaw-dropping looks

Could you take a snobbish view of the Astra. It's not German, and GM cars Have at times, struggled to gain Respect with Those Who Are not think its as well built cars as Their German cousins
. But, whatever your view on construction quality, we do not think you can Argue That this car is anything but stunning to look at.
Indeed, we think it's a more stylish than anything VW has produced. It's a little more garish, Perhaps, under Where the Golf is a bit more understated, the VXR looks like a sports car. You Can Argue your preference, But we honestly do not think you can Argue That this is a very pretty car.

Also remove THOUGH It's aggressive, so it will not appeal Probably to everyone, But at least this is more than just a bodykit. This style is just icing on the external impressive Technologically advanced what is a cake, With plenty of magical ingredients to keep you on the road.
Oh, and Those bi-color, 20-inch alloy wheels are Some of the nicest we've seen on a car. Especally a sub-£ 30,000 car. They're £ 1000 option, But They make the whole car look even more impressive, and are worth the cash Probably, if you want something That out-classes everything else in its price range.

Volkswagen Jetta 1.4 TSI

Volkswagen Jetta 1.4 TSI

When we tested the all-new Volkswagen Jetta last year (read HERE), We Were With The Fact That impressed this one Seemed to be a better deal over STI Almost Earlier version in all areas. The new VW front Looked great design, the interiors Had A make-over and the potent power diesel engine satisfied our hungry souls. We Did not really miss a petrol option. But Volkswagen wants to grab a slice of the midsize luxury segment small petrol as well. Because It Makes Sense THOUGH Some may still desire to smooth petrol and do not do the mileage required to justify the diesel. Now this 1.4-liter TSI engine is a turbocharged unit, But instead of 160 bhp in the 1.8 TSI engine, the 1.4 TSI 120 bhp and 201 Nm Makes of torque.

Well, That is the news out this engine will finally make it to the showrooms sooner than expected. We again caught a test under real-world car running recently and can not wait to get our hands on this one now!

Design wise, the new Jetta TSI petrol identical to Will Remain the diesel one save for the badging. On the handling front THOUGH, With a light engine, expect the car to be more agile vehicle to upward upward slightly in traffic.

Now Those are figures of 120 bhp Significantly down on the 1.8 TSI Currently found on the Skoda Laura But VW wants to tap a different kind of market. With the 1.4 TSI, the Jetta will be cheaper and VW might offer it With A no frills version minus Some goodies to make the price more competitive.
 In contrast, the rivals manage
1. Jetta TSI petrol: 120bhp / 201Nm
2. Civic: 132Bhp / 172Nm
3. Altis petrol: 140bhp / 173Nm
4. Fluence petrol: 137Bhp / 190nm

Its a no brainer than the Jetta petrol will be fun to drive. It will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and 1.4-liter with, it will not Have the thirst of the 1.8 and will give you excellent mileage figures as it is turbocharged. The Jetta 1.4 TSI is expected to be cheaper than the Significantly Then diesel Jetta and will take the fight to the Toyota Corolla petrol, Renault Fluence, Honda Civic and Skoda Laura. The Jetta 1.4 TSI will be a worthy Then PMaddition to the Jetta range.
